Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has told President Muhammadu Buhari that Nigerians reserve the right to know the nature and details of his illness.
The celebrated writer said he was convinced that President Buhari was ill, adding that he should be honest with Nigerians by revealing the details.
Speaking at the Paris Book Fair over the weekend, Soyinka said: “He’s ill, there’s no question there, and I wish for heaven’s sake that people in public positions would just be honest.
“Illness is part of our existence. Buhari owes it to the nation and I don’t know why he and his advisors are being so coy about it.”
The President returned from an extended medical break in London recently, saying he had never been as sick as that before.
