In his major assignment since resuming work on Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari and the nation’s security chiefs are currently holding a meeting at the State House, Abuja
The meeting is taking place at the residence where the President is working for now.
While the meeting is holding behind closed-doors, it is believed that it will afford the security chiefs the opportunity of briefing the President of developments in the northeast with the renewed spate of Boko Haram insurgency.
The President had on Monday in a nationwide broadcast directed the security agencies to clampdown on terrorists, kidnappers and all other criminal elements in the country.
The meeting is being attended by the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Naval Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Security and the Acting Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency.
The meeting is still ongoing at the time of filing this report.
