President Muhammadu Buhari has called off Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting.
The meeting would have been his first outing in the Council Chambers since his return from London where he went for medicals.
The President will however receive the report of the panel headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo which investigated the corruption allegations against suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, and the equally suspended Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayo Oke.
This was stated in a press statement signed by Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.
“The meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) will not hold today.
President Muhammadu Buhari, will however, receive the Report of the investigation committee into the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke, headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, at 12 noon, in his office,” the statement read.
President Buhari had suspended the duo on April 19 and set up a three man panel headed by Osinbajo with Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and Natioal Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, as members to probe the 250 million grass cutting scandal and the 15 billion naira found in a home at Osborne road, Ikoyi, Lagos which the NIA claimed belonged to him.
The panel was given two weeks to submit its report but the President left the country for his medical follow-up in London on March 7 before it could be submitted.
