President Muhammadu Buhari has laughed off the content of his wife’s widely circulated interview with the BBC Hausa Service where she questioned his hold on power and party politics.
During a joint press briefing with Germany Chancellor, Angela Merkel, in Germany on Friday where he is on official visit, President Buhari said his wife belonged to the kitchen and other parts of the house and not his political party, the All Progressives Congress.
“I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.”
He also said that he had much more political experience than his wife.
The First Lady had accused the President of abandoning the 15 million Nigerians who voted him and the politicians who worked for his victory and favouring people who didn’t even have voters’ cards in appointment.
She added that both she and her husband don’t know most of the people around him now as they are total strangers.
While saying she feared the revolt of the people against her husband, Aisha said she won’t campaign for him in case he is in interested in 2019 if things don’t change.
