Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has approved the appointment of Alhaji Garba Mani as the new Head of the Civil Service of the state.

A statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Abdu Labaran Malumfashi, said the appointment is with immediate effect, and was conveyed to the appointee via a letter dated September 39, 2016 and personally signed by the governor.

He said the appointment was in recognition of his track record of service and on the conviction that the appointee would serve faithfully, diligently and in the best interest of the service.
A 1982 Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Political Science graduate, the new Head of Service has a Masters degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy also obtained from the same institution in 2012.
He is also an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Jos where he successfully attended the Senior Executive Course 32 in 2010.
Born on 15th October, 1959, Alhaji Garba Sanda Mani began his working career in 1983 in the Old Kaduna State as a Master Grade 11 officer in the office of the Secretary to the State Government and Head of Service.
He was appointed a Permanent Secretary in 2007, an office he has held until his present elevation to the office of the Head of the Civil Service.
He has performed several ad-hoc assignments, including Special Assistant to the former Secretary to the Katsina State Government 1991-1993, Secretary, Committee on Recovery of Government property from the defunct political organisations in the state 1993-1994, Co-Secretary transition Review Committee, 1999, Ag. Director General, Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport 1998 and Secretary Employment Generation Consultative Committee, Katsina State 2000, among others.
The new Head of Service succeeded Alhaji Lawal Aliyu Daura.
