The newly sworn-in Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan, said training of civil servants is topmost on her priority list as she assumes duty as the number one civil servant in the country.
She said this Wednesday while speaking to State House correspondents after taking her oaths of office and allegiance administered on her by President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Number one thing on my chest is training. For civil servants to be able to perform their responsibilities, it is important for them to be very well trained because you can’t expect much when you don’t put in much into anybody so for me, training would be my number on priority as the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation,” she said.
The Head of Service said she would like to see a very efficient civil service that would drive the execution of policies and programmes of government in the coming months.
“I would like to see a very efficient civil service and a group of very proud civil servants also. I think over the years, civil servants have been beaten and down trodden but by the grace of God, I would like them to lift their heads high.
“I will like to encourage them to work assiduously because hard work pays and we would ensure that those that are working very hard are rewarded,” she said.
She thanked God and the president for her appointment, and assured that she would work hard to ensure that the policies and progammes of the current administration come to fruition.
