President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday met behind closed-doors with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
The meeting which took place at the President’s office in the State House lasted for about one hour.
It was the second time the Speaker was meeting the President since the former House committee chairman on appropriation, Abdulmumini Aminu blowed the whistle on the alleged falsification of the 2016 budget figures by the House leadership.
Dogara was accompanied to the Villa by some lawmakers including Senator Suleiman Nazif (Bauchi).
Dogara parried most of the questions put to him by reporters regarding the meeting.
Asked whether his visit to the President was part of efforts to reconcile the legislature and executive, Dogara however said: “I have not heard of that. This is a distinguished Senator from Bauchi and he is not a member of the House. So if I come to see the President with him, so you know it is not a House matter. Make up? If there is a fight, I don’t know.”
