[T]he Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita has called on the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria to ensure that accountants in the country are efficient and accountable.
Oyo-Ita, who made the call when she received members of the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria in her office in Abuja, also stressed the need for the group to ensure increase in capacity development of its members.
She said training of accountants should be of priority the group, especially in this era of change as doing so would help drive government’s anti-corruption policy.
She said accountants should at all times uphold the principles and ethics guiding their profession which include integrity, accountability and efficient service delivery.
Speaking earlier, the chairperson of the Society for Women Accountants of Nigeria, Mrs. Titilola Akibayo congratulated Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita on her appointment as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
She said members of the group have resolved to key into the change mantra of the present administration and its fight against corruption
