French Prime Minister, Bernard Cazeneuve, has commended Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for the leading role he played in the recent gains made by the Nigerian economy.
Osinbajo acted as president from January 19 to March 9 when President Muhammadu Buhari had an extended medical break in London.
A statement issued by Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, said French Prime Minister said this in Paris at a bilateral meeting with Osinbajo after the global forum on anti-corruption and integrity organised by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The Prime Minister assured Nigeria that French investors would take advantage of the opportunities in the Nigerian economy.
Osinbajo and Cazeneuve agreed that both countries would continue to deepen diplomatic, economic and military relations.
TheVice President said the Nigerian government would be happy to work with France and other diplomatic partners in dealing with the challenge of de-radicalisation.
He extended President Buhari’s greetings to his French counterpart, Francois Hollande, for his commitment and support to Nigeria in the fight against insurgency.
