The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, has said that the All Progressives Congress is prepared to take over the Government House in Awka, Anambra state.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ forum in Awka on Friday, Ngige expressed confidence that the APC would find a credible candidate who would defeat incumbent governor, Willie Obiano. in the November poll.
“Mark my words; on the 19th of November, an APC governor will be declared the winner of Anambra state governorship election and on 17th of March next year he will be sworn as the governor of the state.
“Nothing will stop this because will have worked hard for it, besides the man currently occupying the position has lost the support of the people because of poor performance,” he said.
Also speaking, the leader of the South East Committee for The Evaluation of the upcoming Anambra governorship election, Senator Jim Nwobodo, said to sack Obiano was the simplest fight the party would do.
He said “We won’t fight, we won’t go to war, but we will take over Anambra state. It’s the easiest fight we shall do.”
“The most important task we must achieve is to get a credible candidate that will win the election.”
He asked members and delegates of the party to shun money politics in the choice of their candidate during party primary.
The meeting was attended by APC governorship aspirants in the state, including Dr. George Moghalu, Senator Andy Uba, Dr. Tony Nwoye, Engineer Barth Nwibe, Dr. Obinna Uzor among others.
