Film Africa 2022 opens tonight with the UK Premiere of the award winning Our Father, The Devil

Starboy Entertainment superstar, Ayo Balogun, popularly called, Wizkid, on Saturday won the Best Male Act prize at the 2016 MTV awards.

He has in the course of the year featured in Drake’s chart-topping hit, “One Dance”, and became the first Nigerian to be on the Billboard charts.

He also featured Drake and English Grime artist, songwriter and record producer of Nigerian descent, Skepta, in his “Ojuelegba remix”.

He featured on Justin Skye’s “U Don’t Know” single which dropped on September 8.

To win the award, he defeated AKA, Black Coffee, Diamond Platnumz and Patoranking.

He also won  African Artist Of The Year award beating Yemi Alade, Diamond Platnumz, Black Coffee and Sauti Sol.

The Star singer made it a ‘hat-trick’ with his DJ Maphorisa ‘Soweto baby’ feature winning Best Collaboration of the year.
