The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the appointment of Samson Siasia as the Super Eagles Interim Head Coach.

He replaces Sunday Oliseh, who resigned his appointment in the early hours of Friday due to disagreement with NFF officials.

Siasia, who heads the U-23 coaching crew will be assisted by another ex-international, Emmanuel Amuneke, Salishu Yusuf and Aloy Agu, as Goalkeeper trainer.

NFF technical Committee headed by Chris Green announced the appointments after the meeting of the committee held at the Glass House.

He also disclosed that the Oliseh has been paid N20 million covering his outstanding salaries and accommodation.

Siasia will be third consecutive ex- international from the class of the 90s to coach the Super Eagles after Stephen Keshi and Sunday Oliseh.

The Bayelsa-born former striker is however embarking on his second stint as Super Eagles Head Coach as he was sacked for failing to qualify the team for the Africa Cup of Nations before Keshi was given the job.

He is also ending his second spell as U-23 coach. In his first stint, he had led the likes of John Mikel Obi, Taiye Taiwo, Sani Kaita, Promise Isaac and others to a second place finish at the FIFA U-20 World Youth Championship held in Netherlands in 2005 where the team lost to a Lionel Messi inspired Argentine side.
