The Trade Union Congress Nigeria (TUC) in Rivers state has announced that its members will not participate in the industrial action called by a section of Organized Labour to protest the recent fuel price hike.
According to a statement by the state chairman, Chika Onuegbu on Tuesday, the suspension was sequel to “agreement reached with the Federal Government”.
He therefore, directed all affiliates and members of TUC in Rivers state not to participate in the strike.
“TUC Suspends strike action based on agreement with Federal government.
“Therefore all affiliates and members of TUC in Rivers State are hereby directed to go about their normal business.
“TUC will not participate in any strike action, a terse statement issued by Comrade” the statement read.
