The members of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) have approved the removal of Dr. Haliru Bello Mohammed as acting chairman of the board.
Dr. Mohammed is currently being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged involvement in the scandal concerning purchase of arms by the Office of the National Security Adviser under retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki.
The PDP board met at the party’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
Secretary of the board, Senator Walid Jibril, who announced this to journalists after the meeting, said he has been asked to serve as the board’s acting chairman.
