One of the Chibok school girls abducted about two years ago has been found.
Officials familiar with the story said the girl was found by members of the civilian JTF in Borno state.
The girl identified as ‘Aminu Nkek’ was according to BBC found by the JTF fighters after a gunfight between them and Boko Haram members in Sambisa forest.
The BBC also quoted a lecturer in t he University of Maiduguri, Hauwa Biu, who is familiar with the rescue ,
to have confirmed the incident.
“After defeating the terrorists, the civilian JTF also succeeded in rescuing the girl who was seen carrying a baby .
“One of them identified her as one of the school girls kidnapped and her name is Amina Nkek,” Biu was quoted as saying.
She also said the civilian JTF took Miss Nkek to Chibok where her parents identified her.
The report also said the girl, original l y from Mbalal village , is presently with the Nigerian Army unit in Damboa town where investigations regarding the rescue and identity of the girl is ongoing.
276 girls were seized by Boko Haram members from their hostel at Chibok Grammar School in April 2014. Over 50 of them escaped while the remaining girls had remained in captivity for over two years.
