On Tuesday morning the world woke up shocked to the news that Hillary Clinton had lost the big election and Donald Trump had clinched victory to make him the next President of the United States of America.
As the news sunk in with millions of disillusioned people, Hillary Clinton called her former rival and congratulated him moments after Piers Morgan tweeted Trump live on Good Morning Britain.
After sending his congratulations by writing “Congratulations to my friend @realDonaldTrump – an astonishing achievement. # President “, Piers then announced the end of Hillary’s career as a politician.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Piers said: “Her political career is over. She’s now twice tried to run for president, she was beaten by Barack Obama, she’s now been roundly beaten by Trump.”
Later on the show Trump himself took to the airwaves to give his acceptance speech and confirmed that Hilary had indeed been on the phone to him.
Trump said: “I’ve just received a call from Secretary Clinton, she congratulated us, on our victory and I congratulated her and her family on a very hard fought campaign. She fought very hard.
“Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time and we owe her major debt of gratitude to our country. To all republicans and democrats I say it is time for us to come together as one united people, its time.
“I pledge to every citizen of our land that I’ll be president for all americans. for those who have chosen to not support me in the past, I’m reaching out to you for guidance and for help.
“As I’ve said from the beginning ours was not a campaign but rather an incredible and great movment.”
