Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state Tuesday visited the Chief of Defence Staff ( CDS) Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
The governor showered encomiums on the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their immense support to the state, while calling for more support to boost security in Kaduna and environs.
He said Kaduna state is the heart of Northern Nigeria which needs relative peace and harmony to strive.
He said the state government is willing to support the military with local intelligence and any other neccessary assistance to enable armed forces discharge their constitutional responsibilities unhindered.
In his response, the CDS Major General Musa assured the governor of the commitment of the armed forces to supporting all parts of the country, especially Kaduna state to combat insecurity.
He said the armed forces would review operational modalities with the view to enhancing capabilities for a better result.
He said the kinetic and non-kinetic approach to military operations would be strengthened to boost the fight against criminality in the country.
He said one of the challenges facing the military in the discharge of its duties was the the issue of administrative bottle-necks involving in the dispensation of judicial cases concerning criminals handed over to the civil authority for prosecution.
The CDS stressed the need for youth engagement in meaningful activities in order to reduce crime, and called on the media to always promote love and unity in the country.
