Seychelles and Ghana are looking forward to expanding their cooperation in educational and other areas.
This was discussed during a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde by the High Commissioner of Ghana to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Charles Owiredu, on Thursday 4th May 2023 at Maison Quéau de Quinssy.
Minister Radegonde expressed that Seychelles is grateful to the Ghanaian Government for “the continuous support being provided to us, particularly by the increasing number of Ghanaian Teachers in our education system.” He said that “although the health and education sectors are areas of priority for the country, where we can benefit from the expertise of Teachers and Health specialists, “both parties concurred that there is room for future collaboration and capacity building.
“We are finalising the Memorandums of Understanding for Tourism and the Blue Economy, which should be ready for signing soon,” said High Commissioner Owiredu.
He said the Ghanaian business community will be interested in investing in Seychelles, a country with which they not only have deep historical ties, but which was also home to the former Asante Ambahene King, Nanan Prempeh I.
The meeting ended with Minister Radegonde wishing H.E Owiredu success for the remainder of his visit.
