Hillary Clinton is leading Donald Trump by 9 points after the second presidential debate on Sunday night, according to a new NBC News / Wall Street Journal poll of likely voters.
Clinton has the support of 46 percent of likely voters in a four-way matchup, while Trump has 37 percent, Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson has eight percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein has two percent. In a two-way race, Clinton leads Trump by 10 points, 50 percent to 40 percent.
The poll, conducted over three days, Oct. 8-10, comes after another NBC / Wall Street Journal poll taken following Friday’s leak of a 2005 tape of Trump making lewd and predatory comments about women.
That poll showed Trump trailing Clinton by 11 points. Trump fared slightly better in the poll taken after the debate, cutting into Clinton’s lead by two points.
But according to another new poll from NBC News|Survey Monkey, 44 percent of likely voters who watched or followed coverage of the face-off say Clinton was the winner. Thirty-four percent of likely voters said Trump won the debate.
According to a new Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released Tuesday, Trump is trailing Clinton by 8 points among likely voters. Among the voters who said they watched at least parts of the debate, 53 percent said Clinton won while 32 percent said Trump won.
