The Boko Haram sect has launched another attack on Borno state, killing at least four villagers and kidnapping three women near Chibok, residents and survivors told Reuters.
The group snatched more than 200 girls from Government Secondary School, Chibok in 2014, causing global uproar over the activities of the sect.
Boko Haram fighters attacked the Kautuva village at dawn on Tuesday, set houses ablaze and fired on residents, according to villagers and a member of a vigilante group working with the army.
“Some of us were lucky to survive and ran to Chibok,” said a man who gave his name as Ali Pagu.
Another resident said the terrorists had kidnapped three women.
This is happening weeks after Nigerians heaved a sigh of relief over the return of one of the famous Chibok school girls, Amina Ali with authorities promising to ensure the other girls are also safely reunited with their respective families.
