[S]enate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has again lost the bid to stop his ongoing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
The Senate President is facing a 13-count charge bothering on alleged false declaration of asset.
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday dismissed his suit seeking to stop the trial.
Justice Abdul Kafarati held that ruling in Saraki’s favour would be at variance with the CCT that has assumed jurisdiction on the matter.
“I find that none of the claims fall within chapter four of the constitution.
“This court cannot interfere with the proceedings before the tribunal; it cannot also interfere with the duties of the respondents which have been imposed on them by law,” the judge said.
Saraki had in his prayers asked the court to stop CCB from arresting and interrogating him.
