APC governors absent as Buhari chairs inaugural campaign council meeting

Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were absent at the inaugural meeting of the Presidential Campaign Council chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja.

The APC governors are state coordinators of the presidential campaign.

The meeting was convened to consider the structure and operational modalities of the presidential campaign.

In attendance are chieftain of the APC and former governor of Lagos state Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, who is the the co-chairman of the campaign council, and the national chairman of the party, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, also deputy chairman of the council.

Minister of Transportation and director general of the campaign team, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi; the deputy director general (operations), Senator Adeleke Mamora; and the deputy director general (coordination) Mr. Waziri Bulama also attended ty meeting.

Also in attendance were the zonal directors for the campaign council namely Senator Aliyu M. Wamakko, North West; Senator Muh’d Ali Ndume, North East; Senator Abdullahi Adamu, North Central; Sola Oke, South West; Sharon Ikeazor; South East and Senator Godswill Akpabio, South South.

Other members at the were Senator George Akume, vice chairman north; and Senator Ken Nnamani, vice chairman south, among others.
