Buhari makes 19 new appointments

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved 19 new heads of federal government agencies as part of routine reorganisation exercise, and enjoined the new appointees to regard their appointments as a call to national service.

This was contained in a statement by the Permanent Secretary (General Services Office) in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Olusegun Adekunle.

They appointees are Professor Okechukwu Ukwuoma as the Director-General of National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) for a second and final term of four years with effect from July 22, 2018; and Professor Victor Adebayo Adetiloye as the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Obafemi Awolowo, University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, for second and final term of four years with effect from September 22, 2018.

Others are Mr. Abdul-Jalil Suleiman as the Director-General of Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA) for an initial term of four years with effect from September 17, 2018; and Dr Bassey Emem Abasi as the Chief Medical Director of University of Uyo Teaching Hospital for an initial term of four years with effect from September 22, 2018.

The President also approved the appointments Mrs. Mojoyi Oluwa Dekalu-Thomas as Executive Director (Liability Management), and Mrs.Chinedum Olisakwe-Lawrence as the Executive Director (Corporate Services) at Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO) for an initial term of four years with
effect from September 20, 2018.

Others are Junaid Abdullahi as the Executive Secretary of Border Communities Development Agency (BDCA), Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi as Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Banire Muiz Adeyemi as part-time chairman of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), and Sule Yakubu Bassi as Secretary as Nigerian Diaspora Commission.

The President also Senator Abba Ali and Mr. Mohammed Sagir as members (Non-Legal Practitioners) of Federal Judiciary Service Commission, Dr. Olufemi Ajayi Oladunni as the Director of National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM) Ilorin, Kasali Muideen Yomi as the Director of Agricultural, Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) Ilorin, Clement Onyeabo Nze as the Director- General of Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency.

Also appointed are Mr. Thomas Obafemi Olawore as member of the Board of the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), David Isho Nyikyaa as Secretary of National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission; Obinna Francis Ogwuegbu as Secretary of Special Investigation Panel for Recovery of Public Property.

The President also approved the appointment of Dr. Akinrinola Samuel Akintunde as Provost of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo; Professor Emmanuel Adebayo Fasakin as Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo state; and Obadiah Simon Nkom as the Director-General of Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office.

According to the statement, the President enjoined the appointees to carry out their responsibilities with uprightness, diligence and prompt response to the yearnings of the public.

The President also charged them to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their responsibilities.
