Why Nigerians should have faith in our govt, by Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday called on Nigerians to keep faith with the federal government, saying that the present administration as it remains committed to the tenets of good governance.

Speaking at the 2018 Democracy Day lecture at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, the President said government was working hard on delivering democratic dividends to Nigerians.

“Overall we are on track. I thank all and commend all who have worked so far with us to achieve these successes. I assure you that our people will continue to see and experience more progress, more prosperity and greater security

“I call on Nigerians to remain steadfast and keep faith with this administration as we remain committed to peace building and good governance, to deliver the best of dividends of democracy to Nigerian people,” he said.

He said government would not allow itself to be overwhelmed by the many challenges facing the country, stressing that the needed steps have been taken to sustain peace in all parts of the country affected by various crises.

“We have engaged in several rounds of dialogue and town hall meetings, targeted at peace building between the aggrieved persons and communities. We have worked hard to decimate insurgents in various parts of the country,” he said.

The President also assured that the present administration remains resolute in the fight against corruption in view of the fact that corruption was the bane of development.
