Acting President Yemi Osinbajo would on Wednesday swear-in the two ministers-designate cleared by the Senate since May this year.

They are Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni from Kogi state and Mr. Suleiman Hassan from Gombe state.

Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, told State House correspondents at a briefing in Abuja that the duo would be sworn-in soon but refused to divulge details.

“I like the word soon that you used because that is the real position. The ministers will be sworn-in soon, sooner than you think it will happen,” he said.

However, Presidency sources confirmed that the swearing-in ceremony would take place before the commencement of today’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

It would be recalled that House of Representatives had on July 11 gave the Acting President a seven-day ultimatum to inaugurate the two ministers-designate or face the wrath of the lawmakers.

Kogi and Gombe states have been without ministers following the death of Mr. James Ocholi in an accident on March 6, 2016, and the appointment of Ms Amina Mohammed as the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), respectively.
