Lagos loses lawmaker, Kazeem Alimi

Lagos House of Assembly has been thrown into mourning with the death of one of its members, Kazeem Alimi.

Alimi, 50, represented Eti-Osa Constituency I before his death was announced on Tuesday.

The Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Tunde Braimoh, confirmed the sad event in Lagos.

Braimoh said the late lawmaker, who was the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Community Affairs, passed on at the at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH)

Braimoh commiserated with the family members on the death of the lawmaker and the entire people of the Eti-Osa on behalf of his colleagues.

Alimi is a second term lawmaker in the House who celebrated his 50th birthday a fortnight ago.

In a statement signed by Musbau Rasak, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, the lawmaker died during a brief illness.

The statement said he is survived by a wife and children.
