Buhari to receive Osinbajo panel report Monday

The 3-man panel probing the source of 13 billion naira found in Ikoyi, Lagos, and the contract scam in the Presidential Initiative for North East, will submit its report to President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.

The panel is headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and has Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, as members.

The panel was set up by the President two weeks ago to inquire into the discovery of foreign and local currencies by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at Osbourne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos which the suspended head of National Intelligence Agency claimed ownership.

The panel was also asked to look into allegations of due process violations in the award of contracts under the PINE made against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, said in a statement that the panel  will complete its work on Wednesday and will submit the report on Monday.
