The Head of Civil Service of the Federation Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita has re-constituted the Ministerial SERVICOM Committee in her office to play a crucial role in entrenching the change mantra of the administration.

Speaking at the inauguration of the committee on Thursday in her office, Oyo-Ita called on civil servants to imbibe the culture of being efficient, productive, Incorruptible and citizen-centred in the provision of services to Nigerians.

She said that in a bold move to re-invigorate SERVICOM, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the SERVICOM Headquarters, held the first National Policy Dialogue on strategies for improving service delivery in government agencies.

The Head of Service said her office had articulated a strategy that would re-orientate the civil service to an enviable height as the machinery for implementation of government policies and programmes in the most efficient manner.

She said the 2017-2019 Strategy Work Plan recently launched by Vice President Yemi Osibanjo placed a great concern by government to redirect the civil service for better service delivery to Nigerians.

She said the the strategy document unveiled a new ethos for the service couched in the acronym EPIC, which means Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible and Citizen- Centered civil service.

“The EPIC ethos is to be attained in part through a programme of culture change that will leverage on the re-invigoration and transformation of SERVICOM for citizen-centred service. This initiative will emphasize the core values of the Civil Service such as meritocracy, helpfulness, transparency, professionalism, anonymity, integrity, discipline, impartiality, political neutrality, patriotism and accountability”, she said.

In her goodwill message, acting National Coordinator of SERVICOM Office, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, said the reconstitution of the Ministerial Service Committee in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation would not only ensure the institutionalization of SERVICOM ideals, but also lead to the entrenchment of a culture of change and re-orientation of civil servants service-wide.
