Barely three days to the commemoration of their 1000th day in captivity, another member of the school girls abducted by Boko Haram elements in Chibok in April 2014 has been rescued.

Rakiya Abubakar, who carried a baby, was said to have been rescued by troops in the Alargano forest, Borno State, by troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole.

Army spokesman, Brig.Gen. Sani Usman, confirmed the development, in a two-line statement.

“Troops found another Chibok schoolgirl. Details shortly,” he wrote.

It was gathered from other sources that the Civilian Joint Task Force played a prominent role in the operation that rescued the girl.

28 of the over 200 girls abducted had regained freedom last year.
