There are stong indications that the former permanent secretary who allegedly took away several SUVS belonging to govermment is Godknows Igali.

Igali, a Bayelsan who was in charge of Ministry of Power, allegedly procured the vehicles with 1.5 billion  which was part of diverted  N27 billion insurance premium of deceased workers of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

According to sources in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission which has had Igali on its radar for months, the 47 SUVS and 100 motorcycles were used for the Jonathan/Sambo 2015 campaign before Igali took them home.

Another source however told Thinkers Newspaper that Igali never released the vehicles to the campaign organization.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had recently announced that the Federal Government recovered many vehicles from a former permanent secretary.

The EFCC had recovered the vehicles after acting on a tip-off by an artisan who went to one of Igali’s secret locations for repairs.

The confiscated items include SUVs, Toyota Coaster buses, Toyota Hilux trucks and 16-seater buses.

According to EFCC investigation, all the vehicles were supplied by Kaduna based Dilly Motors, the paper said.

The cash was allegedly laundered by Igali through Baseworth Insurance Brokers.

The EFCC source insisted that Igali has a case to answer and could face court early in the new year.
