The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has declared that the factional governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,  Jimoh Ibrahim, will never rule the state.

He also said the people of Ondo state will not allow the All Progressivees Congress candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu, to win the upcoming election.

The Independent National Electoral Commssion had recently announced the names of the duo as the candidates for the two major parties despite the internal divison within the respective parties.

Speaking on a radio programme monitored on Orange FM in Akure on Tuesday, Fayose described Ibrahim as an agent of destabilisation who allegedly had a mission to destroy the party in the state and pave way for Akeredolu’s emergence.

He expressed confidence that Eyitayo Jegede, who the other faction of the PDP favours, will manage to achieve victory in the November 26 election.

“I want my people in Ondo State to stand by Jegede, they should not be distracted. I believe justice will prevail. This is a fight against democracy.

“I don’t know Jimoh Ibrahim, he is not a member of the PDP, and he is a spoiler. I don’t know how Jimoh Ibrahim will rule Ondo State. Justice will prevail for Jegede, there will definitely be light at the end of the tunnel. I know it is going to be praises for Jegede and the people of the state at the end of the day,” he said.
