Ekweremadu pays solidarity visit to Abati, others in EFCC net

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, on  Thursday paid a visit to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in Abuja to check on some aides of former President Goodluck Jonathan  who were being detained by the commission.

The detained former officials were Jonathan’s spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati, Minister of FCT, Bala Mohammed, spokesman to the Jonathan campaign council, Femi Fani-Kayode and Minister of State, Defense, Musiliu Obanikoro

Ekweremadu was received by   Deputy Director, Operations, Umar Abbas.

He urged them to be calm and have it in mind that what they were going through was part of the challenges of leadership.

The lawmaker added that there would be light after the tunnel.

The quartet thanked him for the visit which was facilitated by the EFCC Liaison Officer at the National Assembly, Suleiman Bakari.

Abati has reportedly been released on bail.
